Find more fresh air at OutdoorsWest

Welcome to the OutdoorsWest website, for information on where to go and what to do on paths in the West of England, whether you want to walk, run, go cycling or ride a horse.

This website is being set up by Bath & North East Somerset Council, Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council, working together to compile all the information you need on public rights of way in the area - and we'll also add on other information that might be of interest to you.

We're adding content to the OutdoorsWest website, adding text, tidying up the mapping system, and generally polishing things off. But, you can already find information on how to get started. There's some introductions on what to do, if you want to go walking, running or ride a horse. You can find out where to go with ready prepared routes to follow - we're building a database of routes across the area - and we have a powerful mapping system that shows all our public rights of way. And there's a lot of detailed information about public rights of way under 'advice and info'.

So, this is just the start. More walks, rides and background information will always be added - we'll keep you informed of news, places to go and events you could join in with. Join our mailing list and we'll let you know as we add more information on to the site. Use the links below to keep in touch and spread the word via Facebook, Twitter and if you want, the photo site Flickr.

We hope OutdoorsWest is going to be your destination when you want to get some fresh air.
