Access Land

Photo of a large area of countryside from a high angleThe public now have the right to freely walk areas of mountain, moor, heath, download and registered common land which have been specifically mapped by Natural England. People across England now have approximately 865,000 hectares of land across which they can walk, ramble, run, explore, climb and watch wildlife as they are given the freedom to access land, without having to stay on paths.

Access Land is shown on Ordnance Survey Explorer maps that you can buy, or are shown on the Open Access maps on the Natural England website.
