Cabot Tower, set in the gorgeous parkland of Brandon Hill near Park Street in Bristol, is a 105ft tower built in 1897 to commemorate John Cabot's famous voyage from Bristol to the continent of North America four hundred years earlier.
The tower, which offers panoramic views of the city, is now open to the public. It is opened by the park keeper from early morning until dusk – from approximately 8am to 7pm during the summer and from 8am to 4pm during the winter. Open every day apart from Christmas Day and New Years Day.
Entry to the tower is free, it's near Bristol city centre so why not go for a walk to Brandon Hill and climb the steps to get some fresh air?
