There's so much to explore on our paths network over Christmas and the New Year.
With 1370 miles of paths, there's somewhere near you to get some fresh air, work off your Christmas dinner, or start that fitness regime you promised yourself for the New Year. But this resolution doesn't need to cost you a penny, and you can start to get fitter with just a short stroll each day.
If you're stuck for last minute ideas, buy someone some woolly hats, gloves or a paper map of the area - maybe even a guidebook. You can even grant a promise of some social occasions out exploring - offer to take someone out for a walk or a picnic in the new year!
On OutdoorsWest, we have introductions, mapping, and ideas for you, your family, your Christmas visitors in the West of England. And just outside are beautiful views and fresh air. If you want to take photos - share them on flickr - on our OutdoorsWest group.
So, why not consider including a stroll in the fresh air as part of your Christmas Day plans - to work up an appetite or walk off that grub, or take the kids out with their bikes, or your dad in his new socks. With less cars on the road, it's likely to be a little bit quieter and you might just see some exciting wildlife...
And, coming soon, we'll be sharing more routes to download and take with you - if you're one for resolutions, come back here for ideas to improve your fitness and feel better in 2012.
But until then, have a Happy Christmas from everyone at OutdoorsWest.
