A great reason to get out in the fresh air is to explore what nature has to offer. OutdoorsWest is one way of finding out where to go, with our mapping and routes, but you can head down to the festival this weekend to get more inspiration. OutdoorsWest will be there!
The UK’s leading nature festival returns to Bristol this weekend with a host of new exhibitors and activities to entertain the whole family.
Join us at Bristol's Harbourside to celebrate the tenth anniversary of this free festival in style with a packed weekend of activities celebrating the natural world. The festival is the UK’s largest free natural history event and takes place at Bristol Harbourside on the weekend of 15-16 June.
And do you want inspiration to get to the festival?
Chris Packham on BBC Springwatch recently said: "There are no excuses. If it rains, get a raincoat and your wellies on. If it's cold put on a fleece. It's really important you get out there any enjoy all of this wildlife: it is free.
And there is one other thing, a personal plea. Please make sure that you get some kids out there. They've got to ignite that little spark in their hearts which will fuel a lifelong passion for wildlife. And perhaps this summer, if just one or two kids get out into the great British countryside and meet it, they might be the Attenboroughs of tomorrow. Wouldn't that be good?"
And talking of inspiring the next Attenborough, the BBC Natural History Unit will be there, giving you a chance to try your hand at being a presenter...
