Pedestrians and cyclists making their way between Bristol and Bath are set to notice an improvement, as work to resurface sections of the route (part of NCN4) are due to get underway.
Thanks to a grant from Sustrans and the DfT Links to Schools and Communities Programme, Bristol City Council will be undertaking much needed resurfacing on the Bristol and Bath Railway Path.
The extensive resurfacing will concentrate on sections of the path that have been damaged by tree roots and will stretch between Ridgeway Playing Fields in Speedwell and the end of the path in St. Phillips in Bristol.
The path will be closed in sections to ensure the safety of path users and to allow the contractors carrying out the works a safe working environment. A number of 24 hour closures will be necessary, with full signed diversions in place for pedestrians and cyclists.
Work will commence on Monday 19th March and last for approximately 2 weeks. For more information and a map of proposed diversions, go to our partner website, Betterbybike.
